FW: LUIF 2005!!! London Universities International Fencing tournament
Dear all,
It gives me great pleasure to invite you to the London International
Universities Fencathon, LIUF, the UK's exclusive international student
tournament, hosted by UCLU Fencing Club. Now in its 9th year, the
LIUF offers high-quality fencing, and the opportunity to meet fencers
from other countries, in an atmosphere of friendly competition.
It is a mixed three-weapon individual competition. The Foil event
will be held on the Saturday with competitors able to enter either
Epee or Sabre on the Sunday. Each fencer will compete individually,
with the top eight finalists in each weapon receiving prizes. The best
three results from each university will be combined to give an overall
placing with the top university awarded the LIUF Shield.
This year the competition will take place on the 11th & 12th June with
accommodation offered on the 10th & 11th.
If you have any questions about LIUF 2005, please do not hesitate to
contact us at fencing.club@ucl.ac.uk. Additional information including
spare entry forms can be
obtained from the UCL Union Fencing website at www.liuf.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk .
See you in June!

U11 (B and G) Epee Competition
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We are organising a competition on the 18th June 2005 - It will be held at Islington Green School (close to Angel on Northern Line). Parking is available at the school.It is the first year of the competition and it is a trial for future association to the Leon Paul series.I attach a form with all of the details and obviously the more young fencers involved the better. There are a shortage of competitions in London for epee U11's and it is an important time for young fencers to gain competition experience. It should be fun and a positive experience for all that enter.Any questions please contact me . For full information please see attached entry form. Please circulate to all U11 epee fencers. Your support is greatly appreciated.Each participant will receive a t-shirt or fencing socks. Also for the 1st,2nd and 3rd places - medals will be awarded as prizes.1. All fencers must have full equipment including breaches and
under-plastron.
2. All fencers must be members of BFA
