FW: Fencing at the 27th World Medical and Health Games
I would be most grateful if you could pass this on to anyone in your club who is involved in health care. The 27th World Medical and Health Games (Medigames) will be held in Montecatini Terme, Italy from 3rd to 7th July. All three weapons are represented - sabre on Monday 3rd, foil on Tuesday 4th and epee on Thursday 6th. The Games are open to anyone involved in health care. The clothing and registration regulations are the same as for domestic competitions (except the requirement for a 1200N mask) and competitors don't need anything special such as getting their name and nationality printed on to their kit. The results are categorised into various age groups (<35, 35-45, 45-55, 55-65, >65, student) and I'm told the standard is 'variable.' There are other athletics events as well, plus an International Medicine Symposium on sports medicine. Anyone who is interested can find out more at the Medigames website (www.medigames.com).
